Awful Auntie is a book written by David Walliams, and the illustrator is Tony Ross. The one main character is young Stella Saxby, who has an awful auntie called Alberta. Her parents had just passed away and she didn’t know. So one dark night, her aunt Alberta showed up telling her the news. Just because her aunt is mean doesn’t mean she can’t pull tricks back! It’s a very good book, with some funny quotes! It’s a great book with a good storyline and as you’re reading it you can picture the scene perfectly! My favourite character is Wagner, who is Alberta’s owl because he starts off helping Alberta, but the moves onto Stella’s side to help defeat Alberta. In my opinion, I don’t think Wagner liked Alberta in the first place! I would recommend this book to 8 years old or over or if your a stronger reader but younger, give this book a go! This is a book that is very child-friendly and has a selection of pictures.
