Year 6 leavers assembly.

On the 7th of July 2017,the year 6s’ presented their Leavers Assembly to the school. The year 6s worked very hard and practised every day. On Thursday (the day before the assembly) some year 3, 4, and 5 pupils (who were going to Quad Kids on Friday)had a sneak preview for the dress rehearsal. During the assembly, the year 6s sang some songs such as: When We Were Young (that brought a few tears to the audience’s eyes); Wanna Be Like You and When I Grow up (from Matilda) they also.

The year sixes wrote their scripts over a few weeks, practised the dance - Bollywood Style -  and sang the songs and then during one busy week practised in the hall. They worked hard to make everyone smile - and maybe have a few tears. Mr Ross and Mrs Hodgson had helped them plan the Leavers’ assembly but most of it was scripted by the year 6 pupils. All of the staff have given the year 6s a good time at Red Rose and have made sure they have had a good education. The year 6s have had a great time planning the family assembly and performing it to.

What a great time the class had performing for the school and their relatives. After the excitement had died down, every Year 6 pupil was presented with a dictionary ( for friends and staff to sign)and a leavers T-shirt - a fitting way to say well done to the Year 6 pupils, who will leave us soon. On the last day of term the Year 6s will walk around school getting their jumpers signed! Year 6 is sad to leave but I think they are ready to move on, they will never forget Red Rose.
